We are eagerly awaiting the test results of an investigation by the authorities to find out why 10’s of millions of dead sardines are being seen floating in the sea recently from Saldana bay to Struisbaai. The anticipated outcome is leaning towards an algal bloom (commonly known as red tide) which affects parts of our coastline during certain times of the year. What is worrying is that the game fish that we catch, mostly feed off these sardines and their numbers are now undoubtedly reduced…
After an exceptional season, the tuna have finally disappeared, and it is now time to service those rods and reels that caught all the tuna! Hopefully, the tuna reappear in October like they usually do…
Snoek are expected to make an appearance soon! These fish are ferocious feeders, and are great fun to catch on lighter tackle.
